The Climate Solver program is developed by in order to strengthen the development and widespread use of technologies that can dramatically reduce carbon –dioxide emissions around the globe.

September30, 2009 was Airec AB appointed as Climate Solver 2009.

Motivation
"Heat exchangers are critical components in many processes and systems and have a great impact on both energy efficiency and on the environment. Heat exchangers that are not optimized for their application, use extra energy and emit more CO2. Airec specializes in Gas-to-Liquid heat exchangers in applications where high efficiency on the gas/air-side with a fixed flow is valuated.

The Airec-design is optimized for all applications involving cooling of air or using energy from a hot gas flow. Using the Airec-design heat is transferred through plates instead of tubes. This technology is also optimized for asymmetrical applications such as Gas/Water. Additionally, all surfaces of the exchanger are primary heat transfer surfaces, so one flow passes on one side of the plate, and the other flows on the other side."

According to the Airec technology can, implemented by 10% of its target market, reduce CO2 emissions by 246 million tons per year by 2020.
